Birmingham: The duo of Manika Batra and Sathiyan Gnansekaran has sailed into the quarterfinals of the mixed doubles round in the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022.

The Indian pair defeated Olajide Omotayo and Ajoke Ojomu from Nigeria in first rounds and won the match by 3-0.

Batra and Gnansekaran did not give the Nigerian duo any chance to make a comeback in the game and defeated them in straight sets.

CWG2022 Table Tennis: Manika Batra & Sathiyan Gnanasekaran reach quarter-finals

In the first round, Indian took the lead by 1-0 when they won the set with 11-7 without sweating hard.

The second set ended in 11-6 and raised the hopes high for the win. It did not take the duo long to book their berth in quarter-finals as they ended up defeating their opponents by 11-7 in third.
