Why Is Prithvi Shaw Leaving Mumbai Cricket? Find Out The Reason Behind His Exit

It has been reported that Prithvi Shaw is all set to leave Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) and has asked for NOC.

Mumbai opener Prithvi Shaw has officially communicated his intention to leave the state team and play for another team in domestic cricket as a ‘professional’ player to the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA). The young batter has asked for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the MCA to enable the move.

As reported by Cricbuzz, in Shaw’s letter written to Mumbai Cricket Association, he mentioned about playing with another state which will help in his growth and development.

“He has just sent us a letter seeking NOC. We have informed the Apex Council members. We will issue the NOC soon,” Abhay Hadap, the secretary of the MCA, told Cricbuzz. Shaw has not played for Mumbai since December 24.

“At this juncture of my career, I have been presented with a promising opportunity to play professional cricket under another State Association, which I believe, will further contribute to the growth and development as a cricketer. In light of this, I kindly request you to issue me a No Objection Certificate (NOC) that will enable me to officially represent the new state association in the upcoming domestic season,” Shaw said in his letter to the MCA.

“Please be assured that this decision has been made after careful consideration, and with utmost respect for the MCA. I remain ever grateful to the association for the guidance and platform provided over the years,” Shaw wrote in the letter to Mumbai Cricket Association

For India, Prithvi Shaw has only played 5 Tests in which he has scored 339 runs which includes one century and two half-centuries. He has also played 6 ODIs and one T20I.
