India continues to mourn the devastating Air India crash that took place on June 13, the flight was headed to London from Ahmedabad and it crashed shortly after takeoff. The heartbreaking incident claimed the life of approx 270 people which included the passengers, crew, both the pilots and the students of medical college where the plane crashed.
Rishabh Pant Gets Emotional
The crash left everyone in trauma and it can be seen within the sporting community as well. Speaking to reporters just ahead of the first Test, Rishabh Pant opened up about its impact and he was seen to be visibly emotional when the topic came up. In the light of this tragic incident which shook everyone around the world, the unveiling of newly named Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy which was known to be the Pataudi Trophy earlier was postponed.

“Whole Of India Were Saddened” Says Pant
“See, what happened in the aircraft—I think the whole of India were saddened, disheartened. At the same time, the only thing from our side is, we are going to be sticking to them how we can make India happy again. Obviously, emotions are going to be high because of what happened in the crash. But at the same time, we want to put our best foot forward for the country,” he said.

England Vs India, 1st Test
The first Test between England and India will be played on June 20 at Headingley with young captain leading Team India and on the other side England will be led by Ben Stokes. This five-match series also marks the starting of WTC cycle 2025-27 for both the countries.
