Rachin Ravindra & Matt Henry On Top! New Zealand Reigns Supreme Despite No Win In Champions Trophy – Here’s Why

Despite all-round efforts by New Zealand, Team India dominated the game and won the Champions Trophy title after 12 years.

The Champions Trophy concluded on March 9, Sunday with India clinching the title after 12 years. New Zealand gave a fierce competition but still fell short of a win and were defeated by 4 wickets. But one of the most important point to note is that both Kiwi stars Rachin Ravindra and Matt Henry have dominated the Champions Trophy leader board throughout the tournament.

New Zealand DUO Dominated Champions Trophy 2025

Rachin Ravindra was the highest run-scorer with 263 runs, this included two centuries. While Matt Henry was the leading wicket-taker with 10 wickets this included one five-wicket haul.

India’s Shreyas Iyer is on the second position with 243 runs while Varun Chakaravarthy is the second-highest wicket- taker with 9 wickets. It is interesting to note that India cliched the Champions Trophy title but New Zealand have ruled the stats board.

India Stuns New Zealand With A Dashing Win

For India, Rohit Sharma (76) and Shreyas Iyer (48) stood out and showcased their exceptional batting skills, while in bowling both Kuldeep Yadav and Varun Chakaravarthy stepped up bagging 2 wickets each.

New Zealand also gave up a tough fight, with Daryl Mitchell scoring 63 runs followed by Michael Bracewell’s fighting 53-runs knock. For the Kiwis, Michael Bracewell and skipper Mitchell Santner picked 2 wickets each. Despite all-round efforts by New Zealand, Team India dominated the game and won the Champions Trophy title after 12 years.
