Meerut: A shocking incident has come to light from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, where a woman and her lover killed her husband. The duo first killed the man, dismembered his body, and then sealed his body parts in a drum filled with cement in Indiranagar area. The deceased has been identified as Saurabh Rajput, a Merchant Navy officer. He had come home on March 4 and had been missing since then. His disappearance raised suspicion, and further questioning by the police revealed the full story.
What Did Police Say?
According to the Meerut City SP Ayush Vikram Singh, the accused has been identified as Muskan and Sahil. “A person named Saurabh Rajput, working in merchant Navy, came home on March 4 and had been missing since then.”
“During the questioning, Sahil confessed that on March 4, he and Muskan stabbed Saurabh to death. They dismembered the body, put it in a drum and sealed it with cement. The police have recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem,” he added.
What Led To Tragic End?
It was disclosed that Saurabh and Muskan were married in 2016, and theirs was a love marriage. In a wish to spend more time with his wife, Saurabh left his Merchant Navy job. But the thing didn’t go as planned, as his decision to quit job and love marriage were not liked by his family. This caused tension at home and he decide to move out. The couple moved to a rented house and were blessed with a daughter in 2019. However, their relationship became strained after he discovered that Muskan was having an affair with his friend Sahil. This revelation led to tension between the couple, leading them to even contemplate divorce. But Saurabh decided to step back thinking about his daughter’s future. He rejoined the Merchant Navy and went abroad for work in 2023.
He returned back to India on February to celebrate his daughter’s birthday. But the celebration turned deadly for him as he was murdered by Muskan and Sahil. On March 4, his wife mixed sleeping pills in his food after which he felt asleep and they committed the crime. He was stabbed by them while he was sleeping.
Saurabh’s disappearance raised suspicion, which Muskan tried to cover well by saying that he has gone to a hill station. Muskan and Sahil even travelled to Kasuani and uploaded pictures through his social media handles to mislead people. But when Saurabh didn’t return calls of his family members for days, they filed a police complaint.
Muskan and Sahil were taken into custody following the complaint, where they confessed to their crime. They have been arrested and an FIR has been registered against them.
