Travelers on Uttar Pradesh’s Purvanchal and Bundelkhand expressways will soon be able to enjoy a range of facilities such as EV charging stations, affordable hotels, food courts, theme parks, and logistics hubs. The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) finalized 12 e-way hubs alongside expressways through a blueprint that emerged from Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s efforts to modernize infrastructure and improve transportation.
According to government statements issued on Monday, UPEIDA finalized plans to establish hubs across both expressways as part of an extensive project for integrated essential and commercial services.
As quoted by News 18, the statement mentions, “In line with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s vision of transforming Uttar Pradesh into a state with advanced infrastructure and civic amenities, the government is set to equip its expressways with world-class facilities. “Known as India’s ‘Expressway State’, Uttar Pradesh is shedding its landlocked image by integrating modern technology, seamless connectivity, and state-of-the-art public amenities.”
E-Way Hubs To Enhance Traveler Experience
It also mentioned, “As part of this vision, e-way hubs will be developed along the Purvanchal Expressway and Bundelkhand Expressway to provide travellers with premium facilities. UPEIDA recently presented a detailed blueprint for the construction of 12 e-way hubs in a review meeting with the Chief Secretary. Based on this, a comprehensive action plan has been finalised.”
Four Hubs On The Bundelkhand Expressway
Four e-way hubs will be developed on the Bundelkhand Expressway. The Bundelkhand Expressway will include three E-way hubs at different locations in Banda, Hamirpur and Jalaun. The 10-hectare right-side hub will be located at Banda, and another 10-hectare left-drive hub will be constructed at Hamirpur. Jalaun will develop two 10-hectare hubs situated on different sides of the expressway, according to the statement released by the department.
Eight Hubs Planned For The Purvanchal Expressway
Apart from this, eight e-way hubs will be constructed on the Purvanchal Expressway. Multiple E-way hubs will be established across the Purvanchal Expressway through the combined development of land spaces totaling 10 hectares in Barabanki (left side), 10.12 hectares in Amethi (right side), 10.1 hectares in Mau (left side), and 10.52 hectares in Ghazipur (right side). The expressway will have four hub areas totaling 39.97 hectares that will be built on both sides of the route in Sultanpur and Azamgarh.
