While citing references of vultures and pigs, the chief minister said Maha Kumbh is a place where people found what exactly they sought. The chief minister said, “ Vultures saw dead bodies and pigs got filth…Devotees got clean arrangements and traders got businesses.”

Adityanath said, ” What you (opposition) said regarding Maha Kumbh, a person from a particular caste was stopped from entering Maha Kumbh, we had told that those who go with goodwill, they can go but if somebody goes with malicious intent, they would be in trouble…We did not play with the religious sentiments of  people, unlike Samajwadi party, their CM did not have the time to monitor Kumbh and see its arrangements and therefore, he made, a non-sanatani, in charge of Kumbh.”

He further said,” Had there been no world-class facilities in Maha Kumbh, 63 crore devotees would not have attended it till now…by 26th February, my guess is that, the way country and world are attracted towards Maha Kumbh, we will cross 65 crores.”

Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav had targeted Yogi Adityanath government over arrangements for Maha Kumbh, stating that all the people of the country associated with religious activities should review how the religious event was conducted and alleged that devotees felt “hurt” compared to experiences in the past.
