A retired IPS officer and the secretary of the Mahavir Mandir Trust in Patna, Acharya Kishore Kunal passed away on Sunday due to cardiac arrest.

According to media reports his last rites will be held around 2 pm on Monday at the Konarah Ghar in Hajipur, Bihar.

Bihar Deputy CM Samrat Choudhary wrote on his X handle that, “The news of the death of former IPS officer Acharya Kishor Kunal ji, President of Patna Mahavir Mandir Trust, due to heart attack is extremely sad. Kishor Kunal ji has played an important role in the religious and social field. Bihar has suffered a great loss due to his departure. May God grant peace to the departed soul.”

Who Was Acharya Kishore Kunal?

Acharya Kishore Kunal was an IPS officer of the 1972 batch. Initially he got posted in Anand and later served as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Ahmedabad. Apart from this he was the President of the Bihar State Board of Religious Trust. Acharya Kishore Kunal was the founding member of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir Trust.

He completed his schooling from the Muzaffarpur and graduated in History from Patna University. Kunal also served in the Home Ministry. After getting retired from the police service Kishore Kunal served as the Vice Chancellor at the Darbhanga University. Kishore Kunal was the Secretary of the Mahavir Mandir Trust in Patna.
