Mohan Yadav was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, on Wednesday, April 13, marking the complete transition of leadership in the state to him. The inaugural cabinet meeting under Yadav’s administration witnessed pivotal decisions being made. According to reports, the Chief Minister has issued directives to prohibit loudspeakers at religious sites and the open sale of meat across the state. Allegedly, those failing to comply with these regulations might face fines. Additionally, habitual criminals could have their bail revoked, as per these reports. Furthermore, the Madhya Pradesh government plans to extend a warm welcome to visitors heading to the Ram Temple.
Addressing the developments, CM Mohan Yadav stated, “Our first cabinet meeting today involved extensive discussions, leading to significant decisions. The Government of India has issued directives regarding the operation of meat or egg shops in open spaces, and we’ve mandated strict adherence to these regulations in Madhya Pradesh.”
He added, “A major event is scheduled for January 22. Karsevaks were subjected to atrocities. This time, the Madhya Pradesh government will extend a warm welcome to those traveling to Ayodhya, with designated welcoming points along the way to the Ram Temple.”
Madhya Pradesh’s assembly elections took place on November 17, with the results announced on December 3. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured victory on 163 seats out of the 220 contested. Despite gaining the majority, the BJP took a week to declare the Chief Minister. Subsequently, Mohan Yadav was selected as the Chief Minister of the state. Yadav, an MLA from Ujjain South, is known for his close association with the Sangh and previously served as the Education Minister in Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s government.
