Sharing details of the incident, he noted, “My son had his shop in Ambala but he got lured by an agent who said he would send him quickly to the US. My son was determined to go there, however, the agent misled him and wasted nearly 8 to 9 months. He charged a lumpsum amount of Rs 40 to 45 lakhs.”

“It Took Him At Least 6 Months…”

The father of the deported Indian citizen further recalled that his son was kept for 5 to 7 days after being caught at the US border on January 19 before being sent back to India. “It took him at least 6 months to get to the US. The agent didn’t tell initially that he would take him through the ‘Dunki’ route. He assured he wouldn’t need to walk for even 2 minutes. My son sold away his shop and everything he had. I even gave him money from my pension amount. I hope strict action is taken against the agents who dupe people,” he added.
