IMD Weather Update: Monsoon rains will continue to lash various parts of the country on Monday, July 21. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued warning of heavy rainfall for several states. The monsoon trough currently passes through a low pressure area over west Rajasthan, extending through Pilani, Rohtak, Meerut, Shahjahanpur, Barabanki, Varanasi, Dehri, Ranchi, Digha. A well-marked low pressure area over west Rajasthan is expected to further influence the weather system in the northern India. This weather pattern is likely to bring some respite to the people from the hot and humid conditions.
Heavy Rainfall Alert For Multiple States
According to IMD’s daily weather bulletin, isolated heavy rainfall is likely over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, with heavy rainfall expected in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, West Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana today.
In West India, heavy rain is expected to lash Konkan, Goa and Maharashtra, with heavy showers in Marathwada.
Weather Forecast For South India
Meanwhile, south peninsular India may see heavy to very heavy rain in Kerala, Mahe, Coastal and South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana. Heavy rain is likely to occur over Bengaluru, Kolar, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Hassan, Mysuru, Chamarajanagara and Tumakuru districts.
Additionally, strong surface winds are likely to prevail over Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and Telangana on Monday. According to the IMD, the southwest monsoon is normal over Karnataka.
Weather Forecast For North East India
East and Central India will experience heavy rain in Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Sikkim, and Bihar.
In the Northeast, heavy rainfall is expected in Assam, Meghalaya, and Arunachal Pradesh, with thunderstorms likely across the region. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura will also experience rainfall today. The IMD further added that light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning is likely over the region during next 7 days.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Andhra Pradesh.

Weather Forecast For Delhi
Delhi-NCR region will also experience an increased rainfall activity this week. Very light rain is likely to occur over Delhi on Monday with cloudy sky hovering throughout the day.
