Former Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Summoned By Lokayukta In Land Scam Case

On October 29, former MUDA Commissioner DB Natesh was detained after being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED)

Investigation into Family Members

The inquiry has already included Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathi BM, who was questioned on October 25. The FIR, filed by Mysuru’s Lokayukta police on September 27, names not only Siddaramaiah and Parvathi but also Siddaramaiah’s brother-in-law, Mallikarjuna Swamy, and Devaraju, who sold a plot to Swamy that was later gifted to Parvathi.

CM Denies Wrongdoing

Siddaramaiah maintains his innocence, dismissing the case as a politically driven attack by the opposition, which he claims is “scared” of his political influence. He called it the first “political case” brought against him, asserting that neither he nor his family members committed any illegal actions.

Former MUDA Commissioner Also Under Scrutiny

On October 29, former MUDA Commissioner DB Natesh was detained after being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regarding a money laundering angle related to the MUDA land scam. His involvement in the case has intensified scrutiny of MUDA’s practices.

Background on the MUDA Allotment Allegations

The case centers on accusations that Parvathi BM received 14 valuable plots in a prime area of Mysuru through questionable means. These plots were reportedly given under a 50:50 land allotment scheme that MUDA uses to compensate landowners, offering half of the developed plots in exchange for undeveloped land used for residential development. However, it is alleged that Parvathi may not have held legal ownership of the 3.16 acres she exchanged, raising questions about the legitimacy of the allotment.

The investigation remains active, with the Lokayukta Police aiming to gather more details and examine the alleged misuse of MUDA’s land allotment policy.
