Delhi Pollution: After Rainfall, Weather Conditions Help Lower AQI To ‘Moderate’ Level

There has been a rise in minimum temperature upto 04°C and slight fall in maximum temperature over Delhi/NCR during the past 24 hours.

In other words, this marks a great relief for the people in terms of air quality. The CPCB recorded an AQI of 128 on Thursday at 6 a.m., placing it in the ‘moderate’ category. The improvement in air quality is attributed to favorable meteorological conditions, including mixing height, ventilation coefficient, and excellent conditions for the dispersion of pollutants, according to the CAQM.

Weather Forecast For Delhi

There has been a rise in minimum temperature upto 04°C and slight fall in maximum temperature over Delhi/NCR during the past 24 hours. The Maximum and Minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 26 to 29°C and 13 to 15°C respectively. The minimum temperature was above normal upto 04°C and maximum temperature was above normal upto 06°C over most places. Mainly clear sky conditions with predominant surface wind from the west direction with wind speed reaching 10 to 12 kmph prevailed during the past 24 hours. Partly cloudy conditions with wind speed less than 14 kmph east direction prevailed over the region in the forenoon today.

Air Quality Forecast

According to the Air Quality Early Warning System for Delhi, the air quality is likely to remain in the ‘Moderate’ category For the next six days, it is expected to fluctuate between ‘Poor’ and ‘Moderate’ categories.

Anti-Pollution Measures in Delhi

Regarding anti-pollution measures, actions under Stage-I and Stage-II of the ongoing Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) are already in place to prevent the AQI from deteriorating further. The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) suspended Stage-III measures under the revised GRAP from February 3.
