New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bhardwaj accused Delhi LG Vinai Saxena of leaking a letter written to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Bhardwaj alleged that the letter was “intentionally-leaked” to the media even before CM Kejriwal could read. He said CM Kejriwal was in an interrogation session called by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the alleged Liquor Policy Scam.

Speaking in the Delhi Assembly, Bhardwaj said, “It is a serious issue if the letter was leaked like this from the LG office. The office had planted the news and an inquiry should be conducted to find out how the letter was out.”

He was speaking over the LG’s objection against summing a special session on April 17 (today) as the latter alleged “procedural lapses”.

The Assembly Secratrait on Sunday informed that there will be discussion under Rule 55 on the “unprecedented situation in Delhi where central government is misusing the agencies like CBI and ED to destabilise the government of Delhi by arresting the chief minister on frivolous grounds”.

Following the Delhi LG’s objection, the AAP-led government pointed out that the Delhi Legislative Assembly has the right that on the recommendation of the Delhi Government, the speaker of the Legislative Assembly can call the session whenever he wants.

The AAP-led government tried to make a point that “no regulations have been broken”. “The same process has been followed in the past. I want the LG to read a little bit of the Constitution, laws and rules, and keep some advisor who knows about the Constitution and laws,” added CM Kejriwal.
