The Delhi-Gurugram Expressway and the Dwarka Expressway are soon going to get an Advanced Traffic Management System. The work of this advanced system has been completed. The system is operational, but currently, there is little focus on issuing fines. According to jagran.com, the traffic police will raise awareness about the system over the next 15 days. A control room has been established on the Dwarka Expressway, and any traffic violations will be immediately reported to it. The system will also monitor activities on both the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway and the Dwarka Expressway, which are interconnected like a ring system.
Advanced Traffic Management System
The Dwarka Expressway is linked to the Delhi-Gurugram Expressway. Some Artificial Intelligence (AI) based cameras have also been installed that will automatically issue a challan in case the traffic rules have been violated. Other cameras will be used to monitor the whole activities of both expressways.
The advantage of this will be that once any accident happens anywhere, the information will get to the traffic police. In the case of a traffic jam anywhere, the traffic can be diverted with immediate effect.
Not only this, the identification of the criminals will be easy if they leave the expressway after committing the crime. The Indian Highway Management Company Limited’s which is associated with the National Highway Authority of India, has installed the cameras. A representative of the company says that this is such a good system that anything going on in the expressways will be known in it. In the case of the expressways, 100 per cent surveillance will be done on both of them.
When ATMS were developed, it was tested. The system has had total success at testing. The system has also been tested sitting in the control room established at the border of Gurugram and Delhi. No deficiency has been realized anywhere from any level. Sector-40 resident engineer Rajesh Narayan says that a very good system has been developed. This will curb accidents. The majority of the accident victims are two-wheeler drivers.
As quoted by Jagran, Satyapal, Assistant Commissioner of Police Traffic, mentioned, “The advanced traffic management system has been started, but people will be made aware for the next 15 days. It is necessary to make people aware of the system once. After 15 days, an online challan will be issued for violating traffic rules.”
