Itinerary

During this visit, Rajnath Singh will meet with Air Warriors, commending them for their steadfast resolve and bravery in responding to recent provocations from across the border. The Defence Minister’s presence aims to boost the morale of the troops who have been actively engaged in counter-terrorism operations in the Kashmir Valley.

Following his engagement at the air base, Singh will proceed to the Army’s 15 Corps headquarters in Srinagar. There, he will receive a comprehensive briefing on the armed forces’ defense preparations and their readiness for counter operations against adversarial elements within the Valley and beyond the Line of Control (LoC).

As Minister Singh’s visit unfolds, security forces are currently engaged in an intense encounter with terrorists in Nader Tral area of South Kashmir. So far, one unidentified terrorist has been neutralized in the ongoing gunfight, with two more holed up in a residential area.

Reports indicate that all three local terrorists are affiliated with the Jaish-e-Muhammad terrorist outfit, with one, Aasif Sheikh, believed to have provided logistical support for a recent attack in Pahalgam.
