Living as “Vinode Kumar” for several years in Nepal, Khalid married a woman named Nagma Banu. It is claimed that in Nepal, he was in charge of LeT’s activities, acting discreetly as he performed key tasks in recruitment and supplies. Most recently, Khalid moved his base to Matli, which is part of the Badin district in Pakistan’s Sindh province. He was active in Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based group the UN designates as a terrorist organisation. His main roles there were recruiting people and raising funds for various terrorist activities. Last week, three Lashkar terrorists, including Shahid Kuttay, who is their commander for operations, were shot dead during a clash with authorities in the Shopian district.
