The group also mentioned that the exact locations of bombs in Panitola (Tinsukia district), Dibrugarh district, Golaghat, and Sorupathar could not be confirmed.
Independence Day: The banned insurgent group United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) announced on Thursday that they have planted 19 bombs across various locations in Assam, aiming to disrupt Independence Day celebrations. The group claims that explosives have been placed in key areas across Upper Assam, including Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, and Guwahati, as well as in Lower Assam.
In response to the threat, Assam police have reported finding “suspicious items” in several locations, including Sivasagar and Nagaon, as they investigate the claims made by the militant group.
In a press release, ULFA-I stated that the bombs were intended to demonstrate their strength, with explosions planned to occur between 6 am and 12 noon across the state. However, the group cited technical reasons for calling off the operation. They have requested authorities to safely recover and deactivate the explosives to prevent any harm to the public.
ULFA-I has provided a list of locations where bombs were allegedly planted, including:
•DTO Office
•ONGC Number 5 Gate
•Dibrugarh Lakuwa Tinali
•ASTC (Dibrugarh, Lakhimpur)
•SP Office (Laluk)

•Rangia in Sivasagar district
The group also mentioned that the exact locations of bombs in Panitola (Tinsukia district), Dibrugarh district, Golaghat, and Sorupathar could not be confirmed.
Authorities are on high alert as they work to locate and neutralize any potential threats, ensuring the safety of the public during the upcoming Independence Day celebrations.
