The trailer of ‘The Conjuring: Last Rites’ has finally released and seems that it promises a very terrifying finale to epic Horror series. Paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren also returned for one final haunting and for finally solve the Smurl family case.
However, the film is set to hit cinemas on 5th September 2025.
Based On A Chilling True Story
The Conjuring: Last Rites is inspired by some real-life Smurl haunting which initially took place in West Pittston, Pennsylvania during the early 1970s and 1980s. As per the reports, the family experienced disturbing phenomena including shady voices, sudden objects disappearing and violent attacks by an some unforeseen force. To find that force, they took the help of Ed and Lorraine Warren, who used to believe that any powerful horrific entity is behind this all.

Trailer Sends Chills Across The Internet
The trailer was released late night on Thursday and as soon as it dropped, people were quick to react and express their excitement through comments. One user wrote “We’re back, baby! They’ve really listened to fans after part 3,” while Another commented, “A perfect trailer – gives you the thrill without giving away too much.” Some of them were even in disbelief that this we be the last movie of the renowned horror franchise. “I can’t believe this is going to be the final Conjuring movie. This franchise got me into horror. I’ll really miss Lorraine Warren,” wrote a user.
A Legacy Of Fear
The Smurl haunting also inspired the 1986 book The Haunted: One Family’s Nightmare and a 1991 television film. Now, it gets a full cinematic treatment as the Lorraine prepare for their final battle with evil.
