Survivor Of ‘Pushpa 2’ Stampede Finally Discharged From Hospital; Family Reflects On The Tragedy And Support By Allu Arjun

After nearly five months of treatment, Sri Tej, the young survivor of the tragic stampede during the screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule, has been discharged from KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad.

A news of big relief, Sri Tej, who has been injured critically in the stampede at the Sandhya 70 mm Theatre during the movie ‘Pushpa 2- The Rule’ on December 4, 2024, was finally discharged from KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad on Tuesday, April 29.

He was sent to a rehabilitation center for 15 days to get physiotherapy and other treatments. After which, doctors at KIMS told his family that he could go home. Sri Tej’s mother, Revathi, sadly passed away in the stampede that happened during the movie screening. The movie’s main actor, Allu Arjun, was there with his family when this incident happened. Sri Tej and his sister were both hurt in the stampede, with Sri Tej being seriously injured.

As per the report of The Siasat Daily, his father told the media that his son was opening his eyes, but he still couldn’t recognize his family members. He said the doctors at KIMS thought his son was rehabilitation center for better care. Bhaskar said that his daughter keeps asking where her mother is. He tells her that her mother went to the village and will soon be back. Bhaskar said that the KIMS staff never talked to him about bills during Sri Tej’s treatment or when he was leaving the hospital. He further added that the state government and the makers of the movie ‘Pushpa 2’ helped the family throughout.

While people are thanking the movie producer and doctors at KIMS for saving the boy’s life, not much credit has been given to the police officers. They were the first ones to help, giving the boy CPR during the critical first hour and quickly taking him to the hospital. It can be remembered that the stampede became a big political issue between the state government and the Tollywood film industry. The Chief Minister, Revanth Reddy, blamed Allu Arjun for Revathi’s death while talking in the assembly after the stampede. Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader KT Rama Rao supported Tollywood at that time. He had also criticized the state government for arresting Allu Arjun, even though he was released on bail quickly.
