Dhanush’s next project, tentatively titled D54, has officially gone on floors. Directed by Vignesh Raja, known for the acclaimed crime drama Por Thozhil, the film is already generating buzz after the release of its first look poster, a haunting image of Dhanush standing in front of a burning cotton field.
The poster, shared by Dhanush on Instagram, is accompanied by the tagline, “Sometimes staying dangerous is the only way to stay alive. #D54 starring @dhanushkraja – On floors from today. Produced by @dr.isharik.ganesh @VelsFilmIntl. A film by @vignesh_raja.”
The plot is under wraps, but the poster and tagline suggest a suspense thriller hinting at a survival-centric, possibly politically charged storyline.

The film stars Mamitha Baiju opposite Dhanush, and also features Jayaram, Suraj Venjaramoodu, KS Ravikumar, Karunas, Nitin Sathyaa, Prithvi Pandiaraj, and Kushmitha.
D54 is co-written by Vignesh Raja and Alfred Prakash, the duo behind Por Thozhil. The film is produced by Vels Film International with GV Prakash Kumar composing the music and Theni Eswar handling cinematography. Sreejith Sarang will be the editor.
Dhanush’s Upcoming Projects
Meanwhile, Dhanush recently starred in Sekhar Kammula’s Kuberaa and has completed Tere Ishk Mein. He is now working on several projects, including Idly Kadai D55 with Rajkumar Periasamy, D56 with Mari Selvaraj, a biopic on Ilaiyaraaja by Arun Matheswaran, and Kalam, a biopic on A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, directed by Om Raut.
