Bollywood star Alia Bhatt has reportedly chosen to push back her much-awaited appearance at the Cannes Film Festival 2025. She was scheduled to make her red carpet debut at the festival’s opening ceremony, that was on Tuesday, May 13 but it didn’t happened.

Alia Bhatt Feels ‘Not Right’ Attending Cannes Right Now
Recently, a source close to the actress revealed to India Today that Alia feels this is not appropriate time to attend such a high-profile event as cross-border tensions are escalating. The source stated, “Alia’s team is closely following the situation at the border, and if things remain calm, she might consider attending on another date. However, for now, she will skip her attendance.”
While the actress has pulled out of the opening ceremony, her team has made clear that she has not stepped away from the whole festival. She might me seen but that day was not today.
Representing L’Oreal Paris At Cannes
Alia was expected to walk the red carpet as a global ambassador for L’Oreal Paris. If she would have been there, she might be walking with some of the known international celebrities including Eva Longoria, Viola Davis, Jane Fonda, Aja Naomi King, Andie MacDowell, Simone Ashley, Elle Fanning, Bebe Vio and Yseult.
Apart from Alia, there are other Indian film personalities like Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter and Karan Johar, who are also expected to attend Cannes 2025 film festival which is being held from May 13 to May 24.
