One user added, ā€œIf you liked Chhichhore and 3 Idiots, this one’s for you!ā€

Another viewer slammed the film as a ā€œBig Disappointmentā€ citing a ā€œboring plotā€ and ā€œforced emotions.ā€ Another rated it 2 out of 5, claiming it lacked impact.

ā€œBrilliant. Gripping. Unforgettable,ā€ wrote another user, praising the heartfelt storytelling and stellar performances.

The film had a slow start at the box office with underwhelming advance bookings. Film trade analyst Atul Mohan remained optimistic. ā€œAamir Khan’s films, barring Thugs of Hindostan and Dhoom 3, are known to be slow openers, and then build on word of mouth,ā€ he says. ā€œAnd those two were massy films, which Sitaare Zameen Par is not. So, I still have hope that the film can do well even after a slow start, provided it builds some positive word of mouth.ā€

Aamir had also declined a massive Rs 120 crore offer from Amazon Prime Video for the film’s OTT rights. According to trade analyst if the film fails to significantly increase footfalls in theatres, Aamir could suffer a loss of Rs 120 crore.
