Delhi Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday stated that the southwest monsoon has further advanced over most parts of Himachal Pradesh, entire Ladakh, most parts of Jammu & Kashmir and some parts of Punjab. With this development, the conditions have become favourable for advancement over Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi during next 2 days. A yellow alert for thunderstorm and rain has been issued in the national capital until June 24.

Pre-monsoon shower conditions have begun in the capital which includes sharp drop in maximum temperatures, sudden thunderstorms, light to moderate rain, high humidity levels etc. The IMD forecast for Monday, June 23, indicates a pleasant day for residents and relief from the scorching heat. Light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorm and lightning is expected today. The sky will remain cloudy with maximum temperature expected to remain at 36°C. Gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph) temporarily reaching 50 kmph during thunderstorm are predicted. Moreover, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for rain and thunderstorm.

June 24: The IMD has issued a yellow alert for Tuesday, as rain accompanied by thunderstorm will hit the capital. The sky will remain cloudy with maximum temperature at 34°C.
June 25: Thunderstorm with rain has been predicted for Wednesday. The maximum temperature will remain at 35°C.
June 26: Generally cloudy sky with light rain accompanied with thunderstorm/ lightning is expected on Thursday. The maximum temperature will remain at 35°C.
June 27: The maximum temperature will remain around 34°C. Rain will continue to lash the national capital.
June 28: Generally cloudy sky with possibility of rain or Thunderstorm has been forecast by the IMD. The maximum temperature is expected to remain at 34°C.
June 29: Rain or Thundershowers has been predicted for Sunday. The maximum temperature will remain at 34°C.
