Delhi Pollution: AQI Dips To ‘Poor’, Temperatures Expected To Rise To 30°C By Month-End

The Early Warning System For Delhi earlier forecasted the Air Quality Index (AQI) to continue to remain in the ‘Poor’ category until today. As we approach the end of February, temperatures in the national capital may soar up to 30 degrees Celsius, reports stated.

Delhi Pollution: Delhi’s air quality which remained in the ‘moderate’ category for the past two to three days, pushed back to the ‘poor’ category yesterday. Pollutants continue to linger in the air as the 24-hour average AQI was recorded as 280 at 6 am on Tuesday, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). On Sunday, the national capital witnessed a warm and sunny day, however, the clear weather led to a decrease in the wind speed, thus making air quality unfavorable.

The maximum temperatures were recorded in the range of 25 to 28°C, a little above normal. The highest temperature went up to 27.4°C over Delhi/NCR, breaching 27 degrees Celsius on January 31. Additionally, the minimum temperature soared up to 2°C across the city during the past 24 hours.

Temperature To Soar Up To 30°C In Feb

Fog And Mist Forecast

India Meteorological Department (IMD) suggests ‘shallow fog’ in Delhi till the 11th of February, followed by ‘mist’ till 14th.

A partly cloudy weather was witnessed yesterday, however, the Met Body forecasts clear weather in the city from 11th to 12th February.

AQI reported in different parts of Delhi at 6 am on Tuesday, February 11, 2025: Okhla Phase 2 (265), Alipur (290), Rohini (302), ITO (294), Ashok Vihar (312), Shadipur (285), Mundka (360), Anand Vihar (358), Wazirpur (368), Jahangirpuri (305), Narela (299), DTU CPCB (281), R.K. Puram (296), Pusa IMD (275) and Punjab Bagh (301).
