Chandigarh: Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader Bikram Singh Majithia today demanded the immediate arrest of all members of the WhatsApp group linked with the Akali Dal Waris Punjab De party and MP Amritpal Singh, who were planning the execution of high-profile politicians, including the Union Home Minister.

The SAD leader, who ran an exposé on Amritpal Singh by releasing audio clips of the MP in which the latter admitted his relation with gangsters, besides admitting to having indulged in dacoities, demanded a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into the entire matter. He announced that he would forward all the evidence in his possession to the centre as the Punjab Police had become politicized and could not be trusted to probe Amritpal and his gang. He also questioned why Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann was silent on such a crucial matter. “Are the Punjab Police, who have all the evidence in their possession, and the chief minister waiting for some person to die? He asked.

Mr Bikram Majithia created a sensation during his press conference by releasing audio tapes in which Amritpal spoke about his direct links with dreaded gangster Jaipal Bhullar and even detailed that he had a share in the multi-crore dacoity committed by Bhullar. In the audio clip Amritpal can be heard claiming that he also knew where the gold looted by Bhullar was stored. The MP in another conversation also admits that he knows his brother Harpreet was a drug addict besides talking nonchalantly as to how he could loot a cash car for money besides admitting he had two flats in Delhi and also knew where Rs 22 crore looted by Bhullar had been kept in safe keeping.

Asserting that Amritpal was a ‘dhongi’ and not a ‘Pracharak’, Mr Majithia also asserted that Amritpal and his family had always supported the Congress party and even voted against Panthic candidate Bibi Paramjit Kaur Khalra in 2019. He also asserted that gangsters Arsh Dalla, Happy Passia and Harwinder Rinda besides others were closely associated with Amritpal and that the latter was using a phone in the Dibrugarh jail.

The SAD leader also released details of the WhatsApp conversations in the Akali Dal Waris Punjab De Team Moga page in which team members asserted that they were ready to become martyrs besides asking if their families would be look after in case they indulged in political assassinations of leaders including Ravneet Bittu, Bikram Singh Majithia and Amit Shah. He also released an audio clip of group in which a woman can be instigating members to become suicide bombers.

Mr Majithia said he had opposed Amritpal on principles, especially when the latter used the Sri Guru Granth Sahib as a shield to attack the Ajnala police station to free a supporter. “This is the reason why I am being targeted now”. He however asserted that he would not keep quiet. “Nothing will stop me from speaking for the peace of Punjab and communal harmony”, he added.

Meanwhile, Punjab Police registered a case and arrested two people after a chat surfaced about a plan to eliminate Home Minister Amit Shah, Ravneet Bittu, and Bikram Majithia. Raids are being conducted at various places to identify the remaining people and make more arrests soon. A WhatsApp chat was going viral in a group named Moga Ke Waris Punjab De Group, in which there was talk of killing some ministers of Punjab and the Centre. Today, Moga Police has registered a case against 25 people in this case and arrested 2 people, one of whom is a resident of Moga district and the other is a resident of Khanna.
